Terms of Service
1. Who can use Megra
You must be at least 18 years old to use Megra. By using the platform, you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into contracts. You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your login secure. You may not use Megra if you have previously been banned.
2. Accounts & verification
You agree to provide accurate, truthful information when creating an account or applying to sell. Sellers may be required to verify their identity (including full name, address, and a valid means of identification) before selling. Providing false, misleading, or unverifiable information may result in your application being rejected or your account being suspended or banned. One person may not operate multiple accounts to evade restrictions.
3. Buying on Megra
When you place a bid or buy an item, you enter into a binding commitment to purchase. Payment is processed securely and held by Megra until the transaction is complete.
- Bids are binding — do not bid unless you intend to pay.
- Repeated failure to pay for won items may lead to strikes, temporary bidding suspension, or account restrictions.
- Your payment is held safely and only released to the seller after you confirm delivery, or after the automatic release window passes.
4. Selling on Megra
As a seller, you agree to:
- Describe items honestly and accurately, including any flaws or defects.
- Only list items you own and are legally allowed to sell.
- Ship items promptly and as described once payment is confirmed.
- Honour the sale price a buyer won or agreed to.
Megra charges a commission on completed sales. Applicable fees are shown to you before you list or sell. Payouts are made to your verified bank account after a sale is completed.
5. Payments, fees & refunds
Megra uses trusted third-party payment processors to handle transactions. Buyer payments are held securely until an order is completed. Megra deducts its commission from the sale before paying out the seller.
- Refunds may be issued where an item is not delivered, is significantly not as described, or where a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour.
- Where a dispute is resolved in the seller's favour, held funds are released to the seller.
- Megra is not a bank and does not provide financial or banking services. Funds are held solely to facilitate transactions.
6. Disputes
If something goes wrong with an order, you must raise it through Megra's dispute process. Megra will review evidence from both sides and make a fair, mediated decision.
- All disputes must go through Megra — do not attempt to resolve disputes by pressuring, threatening, or repeatedly contacting the other party directly.
- You agree to provide honest evidence. Submitting false evidence or false claims is a serious violation.
- Megra's dispute decisions are made in good faith to be fair to both parties.
7. Conduct — respect & safety
Megra is built on trust. The following are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or permanent ban:
- Harassment, threats, abuse, or intimidation of any buyer, seller, or Megra staff member.
- Using someone's order, delivery, or contact information to contact, harass, or pressure them outside the platform.
- Hate speech, discrimination, bullying, or harmful conduct of any kind.
- Attempting to take transactions or payments off Megra to avoid fees or protections.
- Fraud, scams, impersonation, or any deceptive behaviour.
- Sharing another person's private information without consent.
Buyer contact and delivery details are provided only to fulfil an order and must never be used for harassment or any purpose other than completing delivery.
8. Prohibited items
You may not list or sell: illegal items or substances; weapons, firearms, or ammunition; counterfeit or stolen goods; recalled or unsafe products; live animals; hazardous materials; adult or explicit content; prescription drugs or controlled substances; or any item prohibited by Nigerian law. Megra may remove any listing at its discretion.
9. Live streams
Sellers hosting live auctions, and buyers participating, must keep content lawful and respectful. No nudity, violence, hate speech, or illegal activity. Megra may end any stream and take action against accounts that violate these rules.
10. Enforcement
Violations may result in, depending on severity: a warning, removal of listings, strikes, temporary suspension, withholding of payouts pending review, or permanent ban. Serious violations (fraud, threats, illegal items) may result in immediate ban and, where appropriate, referral to authorities.
11. Limitation of liability
Megra provides a platform connecting buyers and sellers and mediates transactions in good faith, but does not manufacture, own, or guarantee the items sold. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Megra is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from transactions between users. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.
12. Privacy & data
We collect and process personal information (such as your name, contact details, address, and identification where required) to operate the platform, process transactions, and keep users safe. We handle your data in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable Nigerian data protection law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Megra grows. We will notify you of significant changes. Continuing to use Megra after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
